The Beautiful Reality
I paint from my home studio in southern Louisiana, surrounded by the vibrant, fast-paced energy of family life. This environment shapes everything I create.
My work is an exercise in finding equilibrium. I paint imagery inspired by my natural surroundings— the places I go to steal a moment of peace and ground myself. The calming beauty of the natural outside world is an essential breath of fresh air that contrasts with the bustling chaos inside my home.
The Neon Heartbeat
If you look closely at the edges of my canvases, you will find a secret. These paintings are not created on standard, store-bought materials. Every piece in this collection begins as raw, unprimed cotton canvas that I personally hand-dye in a vibrant, fluorescent bath. The dye saturates the cotton fibers, infusing the material with an intense, untamed energy. Once the dyed canvas is stretched and sealed, I begin applying the calm, thoughtful acrylic layers of the final artwork.
I intentionally leave microscopic slivers of the raw, neon-dyed fabric exposed around the edges of the artwork. It is a quiet reminder that even in our most grounded, peaceful moments, there is a vibrant life pulsing just beneath the surface.
