Frequently Asked Questions

It is a hidden layer of energy! Before I begin painting the calm layers of an artwork, I hand dye the entire blank canvas in a blindingly bright neon pink, coral, or orange. I intentionally leave microscopic slivers of this bright color exposed around the edges of the final brushstrokes. It is a quiet reminder that even in our most grounded spaces, there is a vibrant, untamed life pulsing just beneath the surface.

Since we have a strict “all sales of original fine art are final” policy, I want you to be 100% confident in what you are purchasing before you finalize your order. Every effort is made to capture the true, vivid colors of the work—especially the subtle glow of the neon-dyed edges—by photographing the pieces in natural, indirect studio light. However, because every digital screen, phone, and computer monitor is calibrated differently, slight variations in color, temperature, or brightness may occur between the screen and the physical painting. If you have any questions regarding an artwork you are considering purchasing, or need any clarification, please email your specific questions to info@elizabethbuquoi.com and I will do whatever I can to make sure that you take home a piece that you truly love!

I personally frame each and every painting in a custom hardwood floating frame complete with hanging hardware, so each artwork arrives beautifully framed and ready to hang.

To protect your investment, every original painting is sealed with a professional-grade, UV-protective satin varnish. This prevents the colors from fading and seals the paint against dust. To clean your painting, simply wipe it very gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using any chemical cleaners or water, and do your best to hang original artwork out of harsh, direct sunlight or in especially humid environments like poorly ventilated bathrooms.

My studio time is heavily dedicated to painting cohesive, original collections. Because I balance my creative practice with family life, my commission calendar is currently limited and subject to my ever shifting availability. If you want to be the first to know when I open a few select spots for custom work, please join the Collector's List.

All original artwork is carefully packaged by hand in the Baton Rouge studio. Because every piece is fully framed, substantial in size, and requires specialized packaging, please allow 5 to 7 business days for your painting to be securely boxed and handed off to the carrier.
Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your carrier tracking number. To protect your investment, all original artwork is shipped fully insured and requires a direct signature upon delivery.
(Currently shipping within the Continental United States. For international collector inquiries, please contact the studio directly for a custom freight quote before purchasing.)
-
Yes! For collectors in the Baton Rouge area, you can absolutely bypass shipping costs. Simply select the "Local Pickup" option at checkout. Once your painting is fully varnished and cured, I will email you directly to coordinate a convenient time for you to pick up the piece.
-
To protect the physical integrity of the artwork and the custom wood framing, all sales of original fine art are final. Because these pieces are large and require complex, heavy-duty packaging to travel safely, the studio does not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind or spatial miscalculations. Please carefully measure your wall space to ensure the dimensions—including the 1.5-inch depth of the floating frame—are a perfect fit for your home before completing your purchase.

Every painting is meticulously packed by a professional packing company. However, once the box leaves the studio, it is subject to the handling of the freight carrier.
If your artwork arrives damaged, please follow these steps immediately:
Take clear photos of the damaged external box before you open it.
Take detailed photos of the internal packaging and the specific damage to the canvas or frame.
Email the studio at info@elizabethbuquoi.com within 48 hours of delivery, including the photos and your order number.
Please retain all original corrugated boxes and packing materials. The studio will file the insurance claim with the shipping carrier and work with you directly to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
